Cataract is a high-incidence ophthalmic disease today, mostly in the elderly, but the incidence group is not limited to the elderly. The editor has collected six types of people who are prone to high incidence of cataracts. Everyone should check themselves and be vigilant if necessary.
1.Elderly
Cataract is one of the degenerative diseases, and the eye function may decline with age and the incidence increases. The prevalence rate is about 60% for those over 50 years old, and as high as 90% for those over 70 years old. Therefore, as we get older, we must pay more attention to eye health care and examination.
2. People who have been exposed to ultraviolet rays for a long time
Ultraviolet rays in the sun can seriously damage the lens, and the longer the exposure time, the greater the possibility of cataract. Long-term exposure to sunlight and ultraviolet radiation will affect the redox process of the lens, denature the lens protein, and induce cataracts due to turbidity.
